Portfield Dental Surgery

Been scared of dentists since young but Portfield put me at my ease, from the receptionist to the dentist and nurse amazing, I had extractions, fillings and dentures. Quite a journey but worth it. I hate needles but they were so kind and reassuring and very understanding. Would never go anywhere else. Thank you to all concerned.

Having experienced poor treatment in my younger years a trip to the dentist fills me with anxiety & trauma. I had been suffering with pain for a while and ultimately was advised I needed two teeth removed. Given my poor treatment history I last had teeth removed under sedation conditions as this was the only option I could tolerate. Unfortunately time didn’t allow for this & I was in a position where I had to proceed with local anaesthetic for the extractions. I have been happy with the service in the past. However, on my last visit, we arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, and despite the receptionist asking me 15 minutes later if I would care to have another dentist, as my dentist was running late ( to which I said I would) a further 15 minutes went by and I was still waiting for my appointment. I use a crutch because I have severe O/A and O/P, so sitting any length of time without my legs being off the ground, is extremely uncomfortable. Very good dental surgery. I had a difficult molar extraction yesterday but Dr Raminta and her assistant, Megan, were exemplary in their work. They explained what was happening and took care to do the job with professionalism and sensitivity. I recommend this Dental Practice without reservation.
