on 27th January 2026 at the Ely Day hospital department I had my laparoscopy inguinal hernia All the team and particularly the nurses team were fantastic also the kindness of the cleaning ladies I can't praise them enough. The only issue I had waiting the EMED transport which it put me to wait and wait till frustration came to me to leave with a taxi. Absolutely brilliant. Its pretty much brand new. The staff are amazing, state of the art MRI scanners etc. It looks and smells clean. I really hope they make it a "proper" hospital again, it would help Addenbrookes a great deal!

I had surgery on my hand this week at Ely hospital and I must say it was a pleasure. All the staff doctors, nurses receptionist were helpful ,caring and nice to be with and a lovely cup of tea and some toast at the end. Thank you 🙏

Had to wait in the car park whilst my wife was getting her ankle looked at. I left the key in the ignition whilst reading my book. No radio or anything on. Hour and a half later, book finished, put the radio on. No life in the battery at all. Panic. Called the RAC be there 4 hrs later! Spoke to very kind porter, who went and got his car jump started the car and we were away. Porter was amazing, both to my wife when he was pushing the wheel chair she was in and to me for getting the car started. So a big thankyou to him. Back home now, car ok, boot on the ankle!
