Me and my partner came in today as he had recently had a fall. Back story, my partner has terrible knees. Undergoing multiple investigations after multiple knee operations so his balance isn’t exactly the best and sometimes he has falls or his knee dislocates. It’s very much spoken about in majority of his doctors notes or hospital notes and on his record. He had a fall over the weekend where his knee buckled backwards and locked and he lost his balance and tried to grab the nearest thing (the banister). In doing so he damaged his wrist and busted it completely on the corner of the banister…
If you're thinking of going to the MIU then honestly don't bother. The nurse who treated me was extremely rude and dismissive. Just kept repeating "we are not doctor's" well what use are you then?! I was given a totally inadequate dressing on an open, deep wound. It lasted one night and fell off. Disappointing doesn't come close.
I was admitted to Licky Ward after two weeks in Worcester having several fractures to pelvis and knee. The care I got was second to non. Kind and caring dedicated staff Physio therapist were out standing. I can't fault any staff on the ward, the catering team were so friendly. Without a doubt it's a brilliant hospital!
Following an eye injury, I attended today, the staff are warm and friendly, I was seen and helped within an hour, we are very lucky to have this service. Very professional team
