Just got a text to say my appt cancelled, due to lack of NHS funding. Guess they are private now with private charges! No phone call or explanation. Have rung multiple times with no reply. Update 17/2/26 managed to get through. I can be seen from April. Gives me time to have a think about if I want to stay.
After 25 yrs plus attending Mark Speights dentist, i realise changes would happen but a text message saying lack of funding blaming NHS ?How disgusting no mention ! Would you like to stay on, paying private although since Mark and his wife left, first thing i noticed was waiting room area. No welcome or introduction by dentist on our first meeting. I had a check up as normal, scaled teeth, No polishing which was standard before, but same price !! I wasnt impressed but i suppose she probably knew she wouldnt be seeing me again
Rang this morning as its been a while since I've had a check up and I've not received a text or call when my check up is due... I've been coming here for a lot of years and mark has always been fantastic... the girl on the phone said sorry its been too long since your last checkup and your not registered here anymore.. also said mark didn't own the practice anymore. So because of the new owners incompetency and not organising checkups I'm now without a dentist.. throughly disappointed after years of being a patient.
Having visited this practice under the new owners, I will not return. I was told very quickly I needed a deep clean and it would cost £73.50. He wanted to fit me in 3 days later (I bet he did). I wasn't offered the scale and polish that I should have been offered that comes within the check up and price. Mark, who I had been going to for years always commented on how well I looked after my teeth and yes every now and again had a scale and polish.
