I went in for a private scale and polish. I called the clinic prior, to enquire about the price for a scale and polish for a new patient. I was told around £85 but it can be more depending on the extent of the procedure. I went in, had my procedure which lasted 20 mins (less than the normal 30 mins window), and the hygienist told me there wasn’t too much to remove hence why it didn’t take long. I recently visited Zayra Dental Practice and saw Dr. Kalpana. During my appointment, she mentioned she has 20 years of experience and works privately in addition to NHS. She told me she couldn’t place a crown through the NHS because “massive restoration jobs” aren’t allowed, and it felt like she was indirectly encouraging me to book a private appointment instead. I found this approach uncomfortable and unprofessional, as I expected clear advice about my NHS options without feeling pressured toward private treatment.

I’ve been to this practice over six times this year due to ongoing dental pain, and unfortunately my experience has been that more problems have been created than resolved. I’ve had fillings that required re-review, and was later advised I needed multiple fillings and a possible root canal. An appointment for this treatment was cancelled the day before and rearranged with a different dentist. At the rearranged appointment, I explained I was already in pain. Most pleasant experience with Mahvish. Lovely dentist, listened to me and addressed my concerns, treatment was quick and she ensured I’m as comfortable as I can be. Nurse Maddie was also very nice and pleasant from the get go. Great experience overall!
