I was really, really impressed with the care both of the orthodontists gave to my daughter today at this practice during her two visits - they clearly explained everything, they spoke calmly and patiently and they explained everything they were going to do in her mouth/with her teeth before they actually carried it out (which I’ve never seen done at other dentists before - usually they just do what they need to with no explanation or managing expectations). When I was 15 I had to have braces, and during a January check-up my lips were a bit dry, and the orthodontist caught me off guard and yanked the sides of my mouth open quite aggressively, and it pulled my lip apart and made it bleed. He then got very angry at me for not warning him that my lips where dry (when he didn't warn me that he was about to do that). I spent the next 20 mins holding back tears from a combination of pain and being shouted at. I remember this every so often, and it makes me sad each time I do. He also said he was "pretty busy" during my appointment to have my braces…
