Broke a tooth, called 08:30, said I can’t get there before 11:00, booked in 12:30, out by 13:00, painless injection, painless drilling, one way chat. Job done! Great great professional service with a smile!
Painswick House is one of the best dental practices in Cheltenham. It’s a thriving group of like minded dentists, managed well. And a big thank you should go first to the receptionists who play such an important role front of house, both on the desk and on the phones. They’re always speedy and courteous and - importantly - warm and friendly. I’ve been going to my dentist at Painswick House, Lesley Price for decades - because she’s brilliant. I had a molar that suddenly played up and after reducing the bite ("no charge because it might not work") to no avail it blew up over a weekend. First time I have used the emergency service. Wow, if only the NHS gave this sort of service ! Mr Patel seemed genuinely keen to help and quickly too. When you are in severe pain that counts! Up front with the call out charge of £180. Well for two people (dentist plus nurse) and a whole Sunday morning gone at short notice I would want at least that. The price list shows a charge for extraction of from £155 so I could not expect that the extra cost…
I have just had a white filling repaired which took 15 minutes to carry out. I went to pay and expected a charge of about £60 which is similar to my usual private dental charges at Bristol. I was horrified to be charged £155! This is agrossly excessive charge for a straight forward filing. My strong advice is to aways check their pricing before any procedure is carried out .
