Our son suddenly became unresponsive and stopped breathing on Tues 24th March around 7ish. We called for an ambulance but were told there were 250 people ahead of us waiting, and that we needed to get him to A&E immediately. It was one of the most frightening experiences of our lives. When we arrived, it was obvious how incredibly busy the department was, but despite that, every single member of staff was kind, calm, and amazing. From the nurses and doctors to the lady who personally took us up to paediatrics, we were treated with such compassion. We ended up staying overnight on Caroline…
I recently fell down the stairs which resulted in a fractured skull. I was sent to A&E by the excellent 111 service. I was seen very quickly by extremely pleasant nurses and doctors who arranged a CT scan where it was decided I needed to be admitted and monitored for for at least 72 hours. I was taken to the George V Ward. Throughout my stay, I received extremely professional, friendly and top quality care. Even during busy periods, every single member of staff at all levels were attentive and caring. I just cannot thank or praise them enough.
In June 2024 I came by emergency 3:00am in North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple. I had a very serious pneumonia and was unable to breath. Very friendly ambulance team brought me safely in the emergancy room. I got immediate help by extreme friendly doctors and nurse making me feel safe. They have started immediately all diagnostics needed x-ray, CT, blood etc etc. so to ensure what was wrong with me. I got all time to recover the first hours on intensive care before I got to a three-bed room on the ward. Everybody was extermely helpful and very kind. even on ward, with three other o…
I spent three days in NDDH last week, and from first to last, the care I received was absolutely outstanding. At A&E I was whisked in (service 111 had phoned ahead), seen by a doctor, given a closed bay and hooked up to a drip within a very short time. During my 24 hours there, I saw three consultants, was given a CT scan, and was treated with extraordinary professionalism and kindness by the nurses. Two days followed on Roborough Ward where, again, the care was truly second to none. Every single person I met was a credit to the hospital, and I am extremely grateful to all of them.
