I came here in December ‘25 as had been cancelled twice by my previous Dentist to have a tooth removed after an abscess. They gave me an emergency appointment, the Receptionist was amazing, very empathetic and within days I had seen a lovely dentist who removed the said tooth just before Christmas! This is how a Dentist should be and this is where I shall now be going in the future! Could not be more thankful 🙏 fabulous practice!!
I visited this denta clinic in August as my crown had fallen. They provided me with an appointment almost immediately and helped me out. As I am not a permanent resident of the UK I was really worried how much it would cost for me to take care of myself. The staff ran the extra mile for me and printed all sorts of documents about my case to help me get this cost covered by my insurance provider. At the end everything was fine and I got a full refund. Thanks to everyone, especially the lovely lady at the reception, who I believe was the manager.
Avoid This Dental Surgery - I'd like to give it no stars. I didn’t realise how poor this practice truly was until I moved to a new dentist and the difference has been night and day. They consistently overcharge for checkups and procedures. I only found this out after comparing prices with my new, far more transparent dentist. Staff turnover here is incredibly high, and it's clear they’re often short-staffed. Receptionists are thrown in with little to no training, which leads to confusion and delays. Very angry with the dentist at the Old Vicarage Barnstaple surgery. Just over a year ago I phoned to make an appointment, for my husband & myself to have a NHS checkup, which we have had yearly for the last 25-30 years. I was told they were unable to make an appointment as they were only seeing patience who had been unable to see a dentist for 5 year.
