The hospital is a little dated but still fit for purpose. It has lots of parking but it's still difficult to find a spot to park. There are good links to public transport and I'd advise getting a taxi or using the public transport links (Metrolink). The staff are lovely (over worked, underpaid), from the first person you meet at the door until you leave at the end of your visit. Mostly. The wards do seem to be loaded heavily with students run by one experienced member of staff. Who clearly can't handle a whole ward by themselves. We have been attending Wythenshaw for the last few years regularly.Staff have always been friendly . hospital is always clean and tidy . It's a large hospital with multiple entrances for different departments. There is a good range of food options . There are a large number of parking spaces across multiple car parks some closer than others . Parking spaces for blue badges is somewhat limited but if you don't mind waiting for ten mins or so you will usually get a space .My advise get there earlier than your appointment . The hospital is also on a bus route

Walking into theatre after 15 days in hospital was surreal, yet I felt calm because of the trust I had in the team around …
I attended A&E on Sunday morning with my son after being advised by NHS 111 that I had an appointment and would not need to wait. While I understand that A&E departments can be busy, this was not the case when we arrived. There was only one other patient waiting, yet it took around three hours for both of us to be seen. During that time, the doctor was sitting in the reception area chatting and laughing with staff and did not appear to be seeing any other patients. It was extremely frustrating to watch this while patients were left waiting, especially after being told we had an appointment…
